Our staff has hands-on experience operating, maintaining and managing systems - we know what keeps you up at night because we’ve been there.

Our two principal engineers have owned and operated a 1 Mgal/day surface water treatment plant for the last 45 years. As a small system we were directly responsible for customer service, planning, design and operation/maintenance of the treatment plant, distribution system and storage facilities.  We also provided operations services to four other local water systems in the Sierra Foothills.  Challenges we faced on a continual basis included:

  • Aging infrastructure,
  • Increasing regulatory requirements,
  • Retaining qualified staff,
  • Challenging terrain,
  • Rapidly changing source water(s),
  • Severe weather and
  • Limited finances.

The list goes on…we are sure you can relate.

Hydros Engineering is well suited to assist rural systems face their unique situations. We have practical working knowledge on how systems operate, and the challenges managers, operators and board members face on a daily basis. That practical experience translates to practical solutions for our clients.
